Dr. Wendy Grose brings a robust background in medicine and community service to her campaign for the Los Alamitos City Council District 1 in 2024. She has a Doctorate in Nursing and works as a Nurse Practitioner in family practice. Wendy understands firsthand the importance of public health and safety, values she aims to uphold in local governance.
She has served as a Los Alamitos planning commissioner for over a decade and is a past Los Alamitos Planning Commission chairwoman. She has served on the Board of Directors for Precious Life Shelter, St. Isidore’s Historical Plaza, and the YMCA (Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, and Seal Beach). She has worked on various projects and initiatives in these roles, gaining valuable experience and insights that I plan to bring to the City Council.
She is also participating in the Pink Patch Project with the Los Alamitos Police Department. As a member of the Rotary Club, she was involved in community service activities and events. When nonprofits in Los Alamitos ask for help, Wendy is there with a helping hand.
Wendy is committed to fostering thoughtful urban development that meets the needs of residents while preserving the community’s character. Known for her approachability and attentiveness to constituent concerns, she advocates for inclusive decision-making processes that prioritize community input.
Beyond her civic roles, Wendy Grose is an active volunteer with numerous non-profit organizations, demonstrating her deep-seated commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all residents of Los Alamitos. I have my Doctorate in Nursing and work as a Nurse Practitioner in family practice.
Since 2002, Wendy has been a Doctor of Nursing/Nurse Practitioner at Optum in Cypress. Her work at Optum aligns with her vision of caring for our community. With over 20 years of experience in the ER/ICU as a critical care nurse, she is well-equipped to address health-related issues in our city. You can trust that she has the knowledge and experience to make a difference.
Wendy believes in a service-above-self attitude, which is one reason she and her husband developed a holiday program for deaf and hard-of-hearing children. We have a Signing Santa who “signs” a Christmas Carol for these precious children. Santa responds to each child’s holiday wish and ensures every child receives a present since many come from disadvantaged homes and often receive very little.
Upset over homelessness, deteriorating roads and run down parks? Let's talk and I will represent your voice on council. Want to be involved to help others? I can help you find a non-profit to work with. The more you are involved with the City the more you will enjoy all Los Alamitos has to offer.

From potholes to poorly maintained parks, Wendy will work to keep you and your family happy and healthy in Los Alamitos each and every day.
